What started as a conversation at the International Sportsman’s Expo in Denver turned into one of those trips that reminds us why we do this.
Earlier this season, we welcomed two hunters from Wyoming to Puerto Buey for a week that showcased just how diverse Argentina can be. Over the course of several days, they experienced classic wingshooting, big game hunting, world-class fishing, and the kind of hospitality that makes Argentina unforgettable.
Mornings started in the dove fields, with steady action and endless shooting opportunities. Mixed in were traditional perdiz hunts behind pointing dogs and fast-paced duck shoots over the marshes as the sun came up across the Paraná wetlands.
When they weren’t hunting birds, the focus shifted to the river. Floating jungle-lined channels in search of golden dorado on fly rods added another layer to the trip. Explosive eats, hard fights, and aggressive fish made for unforgettable days on the water.
The week finished with a successful blackbuck hunt in the open country surrounding Puerto Buey. Spot-and-stalk hunting for these striking antelope offered a completely different challenge and rounded out a true mixed-bag Argentine adventure.
Of course, no stay at Puerto Buey would be complete without evenings around the riverside asado — sharing stories, pouring wine, and watching the sun disappear over the Paraná after long days outdoors.

Trips like this are exactly what Riverland is built around: meeting great people through the outdoor community and creating experiences that combine hunting, fishing, culture, and adventure into one unforgettable journey.
